Therapy

Therapy that follows your pace, not a script.

This page explains how sessions are approached at Journey Toward Recovery — how the work begins, how it develops, and the practical arrangements confirmed with you before you start.

How the therapy is structured.

Book an Appointment

Therapy at Journey Toward Recovery follows a simple shape: understand, practise, review. It stays flexible, because recovery rarely moves in a straight line.

Understanding what brought you

Early sessions map the ground: what is happening now, what has been tried, and what you hope changes.

Practising something different

The work moves between talking and trying — small, workable changes rather than sweeping ones.

Reviewing as you go

What you want from therapy can change. It is revisited openly rather than assumed.

Practical matters, stated plainly.

  • Format

Session format and frequency are agreed with you and confirmed by the practice when you book.

  • Confidentiality

What is discussed stays between you and the practice, within the limits explained to you at the outset.

  • Endings

Therapy is not open-ended by default. Where you finish is something you decide together.
